Most serious PC gamers, or people over the age of 30, are probably familiar with mechanical keyboards. Mechanical keyboards are different than the average modern day keyboard in that each key has a mechanical switch that must be pressed for the keypress to register. Contrarily standard modern day keyboards use a cheaper and easier to manufacture technology that has allowed the price of keyboards to come down dramticly over the last 20 years.
