There it is! I just landed myself the tier 1 ascended back piece. To do this i needed to gather 1850 fractal relics, bit by bit, via a progression through the levels of the new Guild Wars 2 dungeon : Fractal of the Mists. At this point in time I am on level 29 of Fractal of the Mists – holding +25 agony resist. My next step is to upgrade this piece to the T2 back piece which will upgrade the look of the skin as well as add an additional +5 agony resistance. It took me about

Citizens of Tyria, Wintersday is here! Plenty of more events are on the way, and do not fear - The holiday festivities will be around for 2-4 more weeks! Cant play today…wait a few days.. then take a peek! Ok.. all crappy poetry aside, Wintersday has been great so far and its still the very tip of the iceberg of events to come. This morning I managed to capture a pretty good run through the new holiday jumping puzzle. Much like the Halloween jumping puzzle, the Wintersday puzzle is on a timer.
Most serious PC gamers, or people over the age of 30, are probably familiar with mechanical keyboards. Mechanical keyboards are different than the average modern day keyboard in that each key has a mechanical switch that must be pressed for the keypress to register. Contrarily standard modern day keyboards use a cheaper and easier to manufacture technology that has allowed the price of keyboards to come down dramticly over the last 20 years. A bare bones keyboard can be picked up for $5-10 bucks these days. The early 80s era keyboards were mostly mechanical, so if your a computer user over the age

From TIME: Guild Wars 2 is one of those rare games that unexpectedly knocks your life off-kilter, like a meteoroid banging into a satellite. Call it the pinball machine of MMOs, devoted to keeping you entertained by the minute, whatever you’re doing. You’ll get into snowball fights, go on scavenger hunts for eggs, play catch with barrels, defend homesteads from ice worms, protect towns from bear hordes and knock out enemy portals that spawn creatures like the Chitauri in The Avengers. All those events and hundreds more play out in real-time — with, as Bono would say, or without you, lending Guild Wars

Wow, check out this monster of a PC gaming rig. The grand total for this fine piece of machinery comes to $14,482 quite a pretty penny for a desktop computer. The way things depreciate it will be worth less than half that in 2 years. The guys over at Maximum PC make one of these every year just to see how crazy they can get with a big PC budget. I honestly think they could have gotten something faster for the price , but the all around package is pretty bad ass. I would love to have one of

Each level takes about an hour. We will probably be done by 7:30-7:45 If you have not tried these yet they are an awesome new take on dungeons for gw2, fractals work a bit differently though here is are the quick takeaways: Fractals are different than dungeons because: No way pointresurrections : This means no “death rushing” a boss like in other dungeons – if you go down you will stay

Its pretty clear… I have been playing quite a lot of Guild Wars 2 since its release. I can count on two hands he number of games I have spent this much time in, its certainly one of my all-time favorites. I just passed the 300 hour mark this week, so I thought it would be a good time to take a step back to reflect on those hours. There has been a lot of talk about the “end game” in Guild Wars 2. A lot of MMORPG gamers are expressing concerns , or just plain leaving the game.
WARNING SPOILERS!! : If you don’t want to know what happens in the event STOP NOW Today was the one-time-only haloween event in Guild Wars 2. The event is part 3 of a 4 part halloween series of events. So far the activities have been great! The first act was a little bit underwheliming, but as each act introduced itself – a cascade of more and more complex content started to roll out. I spent a good chunck of my weekend trying to complete the Mad Kings Clocktower, I finally did it after about 3 hours of attempts – this was

Social media went a buzz today then in an interview an ArenaNet developer hinted at a new moba-like PvP game mode. Here is the quote from the interview “With the success of League of Legends, it seems like everyone’s building a MOBA these days. …even ArenaNet is working on building a MOBA.” Read the Guild Wars Insider post about it I have to wonder weather this is a good move or not. While I would certainly be interested in a new PvP game mode, and the notion of a MOBA style mode sounds really exciting

GW2 Plinx Event Chain UPDATE NOV 15 2012 : The latest patch has nerfed the timer on the plinx chain. Plinx now respawns only once every half our or so Last week while exploring my way through the cursed shore, I could not but help notice frequent chatter about ‘Plinx’ in the map chat. It seemed to be a popular event so I decided to get involved and asked where I should go to get in. A helpful player suggested I go to the R&D waypoint and head north.
